i agree with this page,

i found that drupal sucks for the following reasons

1)overkill- how does a program that can "throttle" cant even post a picture?

2)names- taxa what? node? what in the f!ck is a node?
i have to learn a new language just to use this crap?

3)unsteady versions- theres a drupal 7 but you still cant manage to get 5 working correctly? are you serious?

4)idiot users- why is there there arrogant know it alls in the forums yet they cant come up with a solution

5)kills your time and hope- drupal sucks, super sucks, its complicated, yet its garbage.. complicated garbage that sucks.
it cant do any basic function correctly

dont even try it, youll waste your time and motivation, you are not running a site with this "drupal", the only thing you are running... is drupal

Drupal sucks more than britney spears on crack, it sucks more than monica lewinsky, and it definitely sucks more than drupals own mother, which gave birth to this bastard of a "content management sytem"

have a good day

Well I have to agree that Drupal is extremely limited in themes and the support on the forums is very limited. I have had about 6 questions that I posted over the last 6 months or so that were never replied to even with bumping. All this coupled with an extremely slow drupal.org website, it is no wonder people would defect.

I have been considering making a change as well. Only thing is, it sounds like wordpress is mostly for bloggers, not sure if my site is best suited or not. It should be, it is mostly pages, blocks, and sitemap. I do want to invite community discussions on some subjects once I can get more traffic. That's a whole other issue, nobody seems to like my site. Seems like DMOZ and other directories turn me down labeling it as affiliate when the site is for a good cause and has good content. I need to figure that one out someday.

My other site is a gaming clan site in PHP-Nuke. I use the RaveNuke version which is much more secure. Tons of support there. I just don't like PHP-Nuke for business. Doesn't look as professional.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for the note. Yes, yesterday was the big day I switched my site from Drupal 5.1 to Wordpress 2.2. I have many years experience using both, and Wordpress is now my preference. I will be updating the Drupal SEO article soon (I still own a couple other sites running on Drupal), but will also be writing both an article about Wordpress SEO, and also an article on Wordpress vs. Drupal (and why I switched).

I will write a more detailed post on this, but I can tell you for now I switched to Wordpress because:

Large sites (over 10,000 pages) absolutely suck your CPU and memory dry when running on drupal

The Amazon module for drupal no longer works and the owners seem to have abandoned it

In my experience, it's been much quicker to get the Wordpress community to assist, getting help with Drupal (without paying someone) can sometimes take days and weeks

Wordpress is more widely used and supported (more modules, more themes)

Wordpress categories are MUCH easier to use (for me) than the Drupal taxonomy

By the way, I reposted the Drupal SEO article and I've setup a permenent 301 redirect to it - so you're old bookmarks will work again!

I noticed yesterday that you switched your site to Wordpress. I read your article on Drupal sucking and the drupal.org thread about the same. I had
Your Drupal SEO article favorited and referred to it often. I am a drupal newb as well but am about 6 months into my new drupal site. I even upgraded
It to 5.0 without any trouble. Seeing you switch made me wonder about wordpress as well. I found this article. I know it is from a programmers
Perspective which is above my understanding but it still is agreeable to me.

What made you decide on wordpress?
